Gaek-sa Gate and Chil-sa-dang |
| |
Gaeksa Gate, the National Treasure No. 51, is the gate of the guesthouse. Gaeksa is the place where the envoys from foreign countries or the high officials from the imperial court stayed in Goryeo and Choseon Dynasty. Gaeksa was destroyed and only the Gaeksa Gate remains. The Gate is the important historical material which shows the construction style of the late Goryeo and early Choseon Dynasty. It shows the beauty of wooden architecture. Three of the guesthouse buildings were restored in October, 2006. Now the whole construction is called Im-yeong-gwan, the original name of the guesthouse. Chilsadang was the official building where the local governor carried out the seven official works in Choseon Dynasty. The building shows a dignified appearance as a government office. Between Gaeksa(Imyeonggwan) and Chilsadang, Gwan-a, the large scaled government office is under restoration. When the construction is finished, the whole area will be the number one tourist attraction in downtown.

Heo-gyun and Heo-nan-seol-heon's home site |
| |
It is sad to be the place where Heo-gyun and his elder sister Heo-nan-seol-heon were born and lived. Heo-gyun wrote ¡¸Hong-gil-dong-jeon¡¹, the first novel written in Korean and Heo-nan-seol-heon left hundreds of beautiful poems. The monument on which the poem is written and the dense pine forest around the place add scenic elegance to the surroundings.
